LegCo Panel on Security visits Police Headquarters (with photos)
The Legislative Council ("LegCo") Panel on Security conducted a visit to the Police Headquarters today (4 January) to better understand the operations of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Bureau and the Regional Command and Control Centre of the Hong Kong Island Region.
During the visit to the Police Headquarters, members were briefed on the work of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Bureau and observed demonstrations on dealing with explosive objects. Members also visited the Regional Command and Control Centre of the Hong Kong Island Region to learn more about its operation.
Members then attended a lunch hosted by Mr Stephen LO, Commissioner of Police. They took the opportunity to exchange views on matters of mutual concern.
Members who participated in the visit included Hon IP Kwok-him, Chairman of Panel on Security; Hon CHUNG Kwok-pan, Deputy Chairman of the Panel; and Hon James TO Kun-sun, Hon Emily LAU Wai-hing, Hon Cyd HO Sau-lan, Hon Paul TSE Wai-chun, Hon Alan LEONG Kah-kit, Hon Claudia MO, Hon YIU Si-wing, Hon MA Fung-kwok, Hon CHAN Chi-chuen, Hon KWOK Wai-keung and Dr Hon Elizabeth QUAT who are Panel members; as well as Hon LEE Cheuk-yan, Hon TAM Yiu-chung, Hon WONG Kwok-hing, Hon POON Siu-ping and Hon TANG Ka-piu who are non-Panel Members.
