LegCo Panel on Transport visits MTR Tsing Yi Operations Control Centre (with photos)
The Legislative Council Panel on Transport conducted a visit to MTR Tsing Yi Operations Control Centre today (14 November) to better understand the operations of the Control Centre.
Accompanied by Mr Lincoln LEONG, the Chief Executive Officer of the MTR Corporation Limited ("MTRCL"), members of the Panel visited the facilities of the Control Centre. Apart from the operations of the Control Centre, they were also briefed on approaches to funding railway projects and upgrading of the signalling system by representatives of MTRCL.
Panel members also exchanged views with representatives of MTRCL on issues relating to the enhancement of train service; progress of the retrofitting of automatic platform gates along the East Rail Line and Ma On Shan Line; the commissioning of the South Island Line (East); improvement in barrier-free facilities at certain MTR stations; the progress of the Registration Scheme for Carriage of Oversized Musical Instruments; as well as the maintenance of the railway system.
