LegCo Panel on Transport visits sites of To Kwa Wan Station and Kai Tak Station of Shatin to Central Link (with photos)
The Legislative Council ("LegCo") Panel on Transport conducted a site visit today (13 November) to the sites of the To Kwa Wan Station and Kai Tak Station of the Shatin to Central Link ("SCL") project being implemented by the MTR Corporation Limited ("MTRCL").
Members first received a briefing on the latest works progress of the SCL project by Dr Philco WONG, Projects Director of MTRCL. Members then visited the To Kwa Wan Station to better understand how the ancient wells of the Song-Yuen Period and other relics discovered in the site are preserved. Members also learnt that showcases will be provided in the concourse of the station for the Antiquities and Monuments Office to display the antiques unearthed.
Members later boarded the works trains to the Kai Tak Station and toured the platform and concourse to learn more about the service and facilities of the station.
Members who participated in the visit include the Chairman of the Panel, Hon Frankie YICK Chi-ming, and the Panel members, Hon Claudia MO, Hon Michael TIEN Puk-sun, Hon WU Chi-wai, Dr Hon Helena WONG Pik-wan, Hon POON Siu-ping, Dr Hon CHIANG Lai-wan, Hon LUK Chung-hung, Dr Hon CHENG Chung-tai and Hon Jeremy TAM Man-ho.
