| I. | The purpose of the meeting is to elect the chairman and deputy chairman of the House Committee for the 1995/96 session. Members are invited to refer to the attached LegCo Paper No. HB 3/95-96 which describes the election procedures.

| II. | Under Standing Order No. 60C, all the Members of the Legislative Council other than the President are members of the House Committee, and the chairman and deputy chairman shall be elected from amongst the Committee's members. The chairman of the Committee (and in his/her absence, the deputy chairman of the Committee) is also the President's deputy, as provided in Standing Order No. 3B.

| III. | Members are also advised that the second meeting of the House Committee will be held on 13 October 1995 at 2:30 p.m. in the Chamber of the Legislative Council Building. The notice and agenda of the meeting will be issued shortly.
