At the Enclosure is a summary of the recommendations of the Public Works Subcommittee (PWSC) made at its meeting on 20 November 1996. The relevant papers have previously been forwarded to all Members for consideration by the PWSC and are therefore not enclosed.

  1. the upgrading of part of 70CD as 86CD, entitled "Yuen Long bypass floodway - advance works at intersection with Route 3 (Country Park Section)", to Category A at an estimated cost of $64.3 million in money-of-the-day prices; and
  2. the retention of the remainder of 70CD in Category B.
