BACKGROUND

The Housing Department's proposal to switch-off, during midnight, part of the corridor lighting in public rental housing blocks installed with Type A Security System was discussed in the above meeting. Thereafter, the Housing Department continues with the consultation process.

PRESENT SITUATION

2 The Police has raised no objection to the proposal. And up to now, 13 out of 45 Estate Management Advisory Committees have indicated support to this energy conservation initiative. Nevertheless, the Housing Department has decided to shelve the proposal for the time being in view of the lukewarm support from the general public.
