This research discusses the experiences of the implementation of cross-sector competition laws in the European Union, the United Kingdom, and the United States and Singapore, where anti-competitive conduct such as price-fixing, bid-rigging and market allocation is prohibited. It covers merger regulation, exemptions and exclusions; penalties for anti-competitive conduct; enforcement mechanism, leniency programme; appeal procedure; matters relating to small and medium enterprises; and institutional framework for enforcing the competition legislation.
This research aims to identify and summarize major issues and problem areas associated with the preparation, management and operation of the New Airport at Chek Lap Kok, which commenced operation on 6 July 1998. The major issues/areas studied include infrastructure, passenger services, air cargo services, and operation of the New Airport.
