Subcommittee to Study the Subject of Combating Poverty
(Duty visit from 19 to 24 September 2005)
The Subcommittee to Study the Subject of Combating Poverty of the Legislative Council has conducted a 6-day overseas duty visit to United Kingdom (UK) and Ireland from 19 to 24 September 2005. The purpose of the visit is for the members to obtain first-hand information on how these two countries formulate and implement strategies to reduce poverty.
The delegation comprised four members, including Hon Frederick FUNG Kin-kee, Subcommittee Chairman and delegation leader; Hon LEE Cheuk-yan, Hon LEUNG Kwok-hung and Dr Hon Fernando CHEUNG Chiu-hung (Subcommittee members).
