Panel on Information Technology and Broadcasting
(Duty visit from 11 April 2006 to 21 April 2006)

The Legislative Council Panel on Information Technology and Broadcasting conducted an overseas duty visit from 11 to 21 April 2006 to study the public service broadcasting systems and related issues in Canada, United States and United Kingdom. The delegation comprised four Members, including Hon SIN Chung-kai (Panel Chairman and delegation leader), Hon Albert Jinghan CHENG (Deputy Panel Chairman), Hon Emily LAU and Hon Margaret NG. Apart from meeting with relevant parties to exchange views, the delegation also visited facilities of the broadcasters. The overseas duty visit was part of a study conducted by the Panel into issues related to public service broadcasting with a view to publishing a report with views on how public service broadcasting can be implemented in Hong Kong.
