Overseas duty visit from 24 April to 1 May 2011

The Subcommittee on Harbourfront Planning under the Panel on Development of the Legislative Council conducted an eight-day overseas duty visit to the United States and Canada from 24 April to 1 May 2011. The cities visited include Boston, New York and Vancouver. The purpose of the visit is for Members to obtain first-hand information on the three cities' waterfront development and regeneration strategies, to study their institutional arrangements for waterfront planning and management, and to exchange views with concerned parties on the key challenges and opportunities in waterfront development and management.

The delegation was led by Prof Hon Patrick LAU Sau-shing, Chairman of the Subcommittee. Other members include Hon Abraham SHEK Lai-him (deputy leader), Ir Dr Hon Raymond HO Chung-tai, Hon Timothy FOK Tsun-ting, Hon KAM Nai-wai, Hon Paul TSE Wai-chun, Hon Albert CHAN Wai-yip, Hon Fred LI Wah-ming and Hon Tommy CHEUNG Yu-yan.
