At its meeting on 16 January 2008, the Legislative Council passed the following two motions not intended to have legislative effect: (1) Motion on "Coping with inflation", moved by Dr Hon YEUNG Sum as amended by Hon Frederick FUNG Kin-kee, Hon Tommy CHEUNG Yu-yan, Hon CHAN Kam-lam, Hon CHAN Yuen-han, Hon Emily LAU Wai-hing and Hon LEE Cheuk-yan. (2) Motion on "Protecting the rights and interests of animals", moved by Hon Albert HO Chun-yan as amended by Hon WONG Kwok-hing, Hon Audrey EU Yuet-mee and Hon CHOY So-yuk.
