Pursuant to Standing Order 4AA, His Excellency the Governor, the Right Honourable Christopher Francis PATTEN, attended the sitting to address the Council on his visit to London and to enable Members to put questions to him on the following issues:

  1. The Governor's recent visit to London;
  2. Vietnamese migrants;
  3. Most Favoured Nation status for China;
  4. Protection of intellectual property right in Hong Kong;
  5. Provisional Legislature and ExCo Members’ Stand on the matter; and
  6. Handling of protestors by Police.

Ten Members asked questions on the above issues and the Governor replied.

NEXT SITTING

In accordance with Standing Orders, the President adjourned the Council until Wednesday, 24 April 1996.

Adjourned accordingly at twenty-four minutes to four o'clock.
