I.Election of Chairman

Mr Michael HO Mun-ka was elected Chairman of the Bills Committee.

2. Members agreed to schedule two further meetings as follows:

1. Monday, 19 May 1997, at 10:30 a.m; and

2. Monday, 2 June 1997, at 8:30 a.m.

3. Members decided to invite the following employer associations and labour groups to make representations at the next meeting on 19 May 1997:

The Hong Kong Federation of Trade Unions;

Hong Kong Confederation of Trade Unions;

The Federation of Hong Kong and Kowloon Labour Unions;

Hong Kong-Kowloon Trades Union Council;

Employers’ Federation of Hong Kong;

The Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce; and

Federation of Hong Kong Industries.

4. Mr LEE Cheuk-yan also informed members that the Bill would be considered by the Labour Advisory Board at its meeting on 28 May 1997.

5. The meeting ended at 2:30 p.m.
