Tax Reserve Certificates (Fourth Series) Rules
Tax Reserve Certificates (Rate of Interest) (No. 3) Notice 1998 (L.N. 302)
This Notice fixes at 8.04% per annum the rate of interest payable on tax reserve certificates issued on or after 1 September 1998.
Industrial Training (Clothing Industry) (Amendment) (No. 2) Ordinance 1995
Industrial Training (Clothing Industry) (Amendment) (No. 2) Ordinance 1995 (31 of 1995) (Commencement) Notice 1998(L.N. 303)
This Notice specifies 28 September 1998 as the day on which the following provisions of the Industrial Training (Clothing Industry) (Amendment) (No. 2) Ordinance 1995 (31 of 1995) ("the Amendment Ordinance") will come into operation -
- section 6 (in so far as it relates to the addition of new section 30C which imposes on a specified agent a duty not to send information by using the information technology services unless duly authorised to do so);and
- section 7 (in so far as it relates to the addition of new section 33(4) which provides for penalty for breach of section 30C).
The reason for the late commencement day for those provisions is, according to the Administration, to tie in with the launching of the information technology services. The other provisions of the Amendment Ordinance have already come into operation.
Import and Export (Registration) (Amendment) Regulation 1995
Import and Export (Registration) (Amendment) Regulation 1995 (L.N. 544 of 1995) (Commencement) Notice 1998(L.N. 304)
This Notice specifies 28 September 1998 as the day on which section 8 (in so far as it relates to the addition of new regulation 13B which imposes on a specified agent a duty not to send information by using the information technology services unless duly authorised to do so and provides for penalty for breach of such duty) of the Import and Export (Registration) (Amendment) Regulation 1995 (L.N. 544 of 1995) ("the Amendment Regulation") will come into operation.
The reason for the late commencement day for that provision is, according to the Administration, to tie in with the launching of the information technology services. The other provisions of the Amendment Regulation have already come into operation.
Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Passports (Appeal Board) Regulation
Hong Kong Special Administration Region Passports (Appeal Board) Regulation (L.N. 91 of 1998) (Commencement) Notice 1998(L.N. 305)
This Notice specifies 7 September 1998 as the day on which the Hong Kong Special Administration Region Passports (Appeal Board) Regulation (L.N. 91 of 1998) ("the Regulation") will come into operation.
The Regulation provides for the establishment of an appeal board to hear and determine the Director of Immigration's decisions in respect of the issue, validity, amendment and cancellation of HKSAR passports.
