Arbitration (Parties to New York Convention) (Amendment) Order 1998 (L.N. 368)
This Order adds Armenia, Brunei Darussalam, Kyrgyzstan, Mauritania and Paraguay to the Schedule to the Arbitration (Parties to New York Convention) Order (Cap. 341 sub. leg.) as they are states which have acceded to the New York Convention
1 since the last amendment of the Order made in March 1997. The arbitration awards made in any of those states will be recognised and enforceable in the Hong Kong SAR as Convention awards

This Notice appoints 4 December 1998 as the day on which the Immigration (Amendment) Regulation 1998 is to come into operation.

1.i.e. the Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards adopted by the United Nations Conference on International Commercial Arbitration on 10 June 1958 ( definition of "the New York Convention" in section 2 of Cap. 341).

3.The Regulation prescribes an additional fee payable by an applicant for delivering the applied for seaman's identity book or document of identity to a place outside Hong Kong and provides for the remission or refund of such fee. The Legal Service Division Report (LC paper No. LS 38/98-99) on the Regulation was disseminated to Members on 9 October 1998.
