Broadcasting
Services Survey 2005
To track the viewing and listening habits of the public and
their attitudes on matters relating to broadcasting, the Authority
commissioned an independent survey company to conduct a survey
on broadcasting services in Hong Kong in April/May 2005. The
scope of the survey included the domestic free, domestic pay
and non-domestic television programme services, sound broadcasting
services, and broadcast-like services provided through new
forms of media such as the Internet and 3G mobile services.
The objectives of the survey were to assess the penetration
and use of different types of television and sound broadcasting
services, including those carried on new media, in Hong Kong
households; the public's satisfaction with programme diversity
in broadcasting and their views on the regulation for such
services; and the public's awareness and effectiveness of
the present complaint avenues.
A total of 1,500 successful face-to-face interviews were
conducted with respondents aged 15 or above. The executive
summary and findings of the survey are available for public
access on the BA website at www.hkba.hk. |
